May 18, 2020 Update:
Dear Borgo families,
This has been a year of many transitions for us, some of them expected and some definitely not! We would like to take a moment to say thank you to all of you for hanging in there with us during this unexpected shutdown due to COVID-19. We miss all of our dancers so much, and we hope that all of you are ready to come back and dance with us again next season.
We have been going through a longer transition this season as well, and we are finally ready to share this news with all of you! After three decades as the owner of Borgo, Miss Margaret is retiring. We congratulate her and wish her all the best in her retirement, and we are grateful for the many years that she ran the studio!
We are happy to announce that Miss Amanda, Miss Claire, and Miss Kathy will be the new owners from this point onward! We are so excited to be able to continue the Borgo tradition now and into the next generation!
What does this mean for all of you? It is our goal to make this as smooth a transition as possible. Our philosophy, our style of classes, and our prices will all remain the same. We will still remain teachers as well, and we are looking forward to continuing to teach our classes and work with all of our students! The one big change? We will be moving to a new location in Clawson. We know many of our dance families live in or near Royal Oak, which is why it was important to us to not move far. Our new location is less than 3 miles away, just a 6 minute drive up Rochester Rd. We know many of you have been coming to Borgo for years, some of you for generations, and it may feel like a big change, but we believe it is our unique philosophy, our teachers, and all of you, the dancers and families that make Borgo, not just a building. So while we are sad to say goodbye to our old building, we are not saying goodbye to any of our Borgo history, and we are excited to continue in the Borgo tradition that we know and love.
We are excited to begin this new chapter, and we want all of you there with us! We will continue to update you this summer, and as always we will send our class schedule to you mid July. We hope all of you can join us for our inaugural open house/open enrollment in August to unveil our new studio location, and celebrate the history of Borgo’s previous 86 years.
If you have any questions, or need to contact us, we have the same email, phone number, and P.O. box as always.
Miss Amanda, Miss Claire, and Miss Kathy
April 2020 Update:
Dear Borgo Parents and Families,
Due to the continuing dangers posed by the corona virus, Borgo Dance School will follow Michigan’s public schools and remain closed for the rest of this school year.
We will be in touch in May with information about our 2020-2021 season. Please keep watching your email for this information and an upcoming exciting announcement!
Unfortunately, because of how we have had to end this season, we are not able to give out dance dolls this year. However, we still would like every student to receive an award. Instead of dolls this year, every student will receive a dance charm bracelet or necklace! Once the stay at home order is lifted, we will reach out to let you know when and how to pick up these awards!
